The system of fast payments of the Bank of Russia (SBPay) will be connected from April 1. Most financial institutions have expressed their readiness to work with the system starting from the second month of spring.

While SBPay assumes payment via a QR code, developers are working to make it possible to pay via a smartphone using NFC. SBPay should not be confused with SberPay.
Recall that we earlier reported that Mir cards were connected to the following contactless payment services: Mir Pay, SberPay, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay. There are now some slight changes. Apple pay is reported to have restricted the use of Mir Card in Apple Pay. Other payment services (Mir Pay, SberPay and Samsung Pay) continue to work.
Tatyana Kurzyakova, Head of the Card Business Development Department at the MKB (PJSC CREDIT BANK OF MOSCOW), listed alternatives to Apple Pay or Google Pay for paying for goods and services.
“Mir Pay is a Russian analogue of Apple Pay or Google Pay, which allows you to make contactless payments with devices on the Android operating system. The service is available to clients of more than 80 Russian banks,” Kurzyakova said.
The specialist added that owners of Samsung gadgets can use the Samsung Pay payment service. In addition, a number of stores have already begun to provide the opportunity to pay for goods and services using QR codes.
