The dissemination of false information about the activities of such structures as the National Guard, embassies, diplomatic missions, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the prosecutor's office is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
The maximum term under the article is 15 years.
For the dissemination of fakes about the exercise by Russian state bodies of their powers abroad, a fine of 700 thousand to 1.5 million rubles is provided or imprisonment for up to three years.
It is clarified that if the violation was committed using the official position, or by a group of persons, or “with the artificial creation of evidence of the accusation”, or “from selfish motives”, or “for reasons of political, ideological, racial, national or religious enmity” and entailed grave consequences, the term of imprisonment will be from 10 to 15 years.
