NIDO Russia welcomes the positive development with Troika transportation cards as it will stimulate the local indigenous chip production industry, reduce unemployment, improve trade balance, & catalyze the development of other related goods & services.
According to Maxim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow, Troika cards will now be equipped with a Russian chip which is undergoing final testing before being released into large-scale production. The transition to a new Russian chip would not affect the functionality of the card.
“Three years ago we started preparing a Russian chip for our Troika card. Replacing the chip will in no way affect the functionality & capabilities of the Troika, & all our passengers will also be able to use them conveniently. At the same time, we have a sufficient number of cards in our warehouses, there is no shortage and won't be in the future. The Moscow ticketing system is one of the most reliable & modern in the world."
