An analogue of the Android app store Google Play is planned to be launched in Russia by May 9. Vladimir Zykov, Project Director of ANO "Digital Platforms", announced this.

According to the expert, at the moment, Russians can no longer fully use the Google store to buy and pay for applications, so its domestic analogue NashStore was developed. The Russian analogue of Apple Pay and Google Pay has also been available from April 1st called SBPay.

“More than 700 companies are collaborating on the creation of an application store, and everyone can apply for the inclusion of their software in NashStore through the official website,”
Zykov said.

He noted that the development team is creating various payment methods compatible with Mir cards. The launch of the app store is scheduled for May 9, RIA Novosti writes.

Recall that we earlier reported that Mir cards were connected to the following contactless payment services: Mir Pay, SberPay, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay. There are now some slight changes. Apple pay and Google Pay are reported to have restricted the use of Mir Card. Other payment services (Mir Pay, SberPay and Samsung Pay) continue to work.

Tatyana Kurzyakova, Head of the Card Business Development Department at the MKB (PJSC CREDIT BANK OF MOSCOW), listed alternatives to Apple Pay or Google Pay for paying for goods and services.

“Mir Pay is a Russian analogue of Apple Pay or Google Pay, which allows you to make contactless payments with devices on the Android operating system. The service is available to clients of more than 80 Russian banks,” Kurzyakova said.

The specialist added that owners of Samsung gadgets can use the Samsung Pay payment service. In addition, a number of stores have already begun to provide the opportunity to pay for goods and services using QR codes.

Recall that NIDO Russia has published an investment guide for members to help weather the storm.
